’ve always loved reading, but my passion for fiction truly blossomed in my twenties. Now in my thirties, I’ve found the perfect way to expand that passion through proofreading. Proofreaders are the final polishers, catching sneaky typos, punctuation slips, and formatting hiccups right before publishing that may have slipped through the cracks, or even been created through the editing process. Copy editors dive deeper, reshaping sentences, fixing grammar, ensuring consistency, and sometimes questioning your word choices. Think of proofreaders as meticulous inspectors, and copy editors as thoughtful architects—both essential to the editing process, but one builds while the other perfects.
What genres do i proofread?
As a long-time reader, fiction is my forte. I specialize in fantasy and romance along with their subgenres, including those containing adult content—looking at you, Dark Romance. While those are my specialty, I also enjoy working with thrillers, mystery, and historical fiction. If you don't see your genre on the list, feel free to reach out to me!
What do I bring to the table?
I've spent the majority of my life as a reader. When I work on a manuscript, I not only bring my skills as a proofreader but also the passion and point of view of a hobby reader. That reader's passion motivates me to support authors in bringing out the absolute best in their writing because I know how distracting even the smallest errors can be. There's nothing worse than enjoying a good book and being pulled from the story because the character's patients was running thin.
